Prophet told me "you already know" and charged full price
Went to Glimma Datch for a targeted reading about a relationship issue. Sat down, she did the whole setup, candles, the focus object, the breathing exercises, the whole routine. Then she looked at me and said "you already know." That was the prophecy. Three words. 150 credits. I asked what I already know. She said "that's included in the prophecy." I asked for elaboration. She said the prophecy was self-explanatory. I said I was confused. She said "I don't think you are." I think she might be right, which is infuriating.
"You already know" is classified as a reflective prophecy, which is a legitimate category under the Bureau of Prophetic Standards guidelines. A reflective prophecy doesn't reveal new information; it confirms that the seeker already possesses the information they're seeking. It's the prophetic equivalent of a doctor telling you to listen to your body. It's maddening and it is technically valid. The 150 credit charge is also within guidelines. Targeted readings are priced by the service, not by word count. A three-word prophecy and a three-paragraph prophecy cost the same.
So I paid 150 credits to be told I already had the answer. And she's right. I do already know. I've known for months. I just wanted someone with a candle and a focus object to tell me I was right. And she did, technically. She told me I was right by telling me I already knew. I hate prophecy. Prophecy is just therapy with worse lighting.
Glimma does this maybe once every ten sessions. She won't give you a prophecy if she sees that you already have the answer and just don't want to admit it to yourself. She considers it unethical to tell someone something they already know as if it's new information. She'd rather lose the repeat business than enable avoidance. She told me "you already know" about my job situation in March. I quit the next week. She was right. I already knew. It still cost 150 credits.
The thing that's really getting to me is that I went to a PROPHET for CONFIRMATION and didn't even get the satisfaction of hearing the answer out loud. She made me do the work myself. For 150 credits. That's not prophecy. That's the most expensive mirror I've ever looked into. Anyway. I know what I need to do. Thanks I guess.
