Venn Line B, do the southbound trains still skip Fenwick on Wednesdays?
Just moved to the Fenwick corridor and I'm trying to figure out my commute. Twice now I've been standing on the southbound platform on a Wednesday and the train just... doesn't stop. Blows right through. Is this a known thing or is something wrong with my pass?
Known thing. Southbound skips Fenwick every other Wednesday. Has since the schedule adjustment in March. Apparently there's a timing conflict with the northbound express and they just decided Fenwick wasn't worth the delay. There's supposed to be a shuttle bus but I've never personally seen it.
Wait, every OTHER Wednesday? I thought it was every Wednesday. I've been taking the 7:15 to Dross and walking back for months.
So do I just memorize which Wednesdays? Is there a calendar somewhere?
There is a calendar. It's posted on the bulletin board inside the Fenwick station. The one you can only reach on the Wednesdays the train actually stops. I've brought this up at two public comment meetings. Both times they wrote it down, nodded, and said "noted."
Simpler method: if the electronic board on the platform says "NEXT TRAIN" with a time, the train stops. If it says "NEXT TRAIN" with a philosophical question, the train doesn't stop and you should have taken the bus. Last Wednesday mine said "NEXT TRAIN: What do you think punctuality means to you?" So I walked.
